This service is available free of charge 24\/7, for anyone who is in Nova Scotia, even from a public telephone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When to call 911<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dial 911 if your health, safety, or possessions are threatened and you require immediate assistance. The 911 call taker will notify emergency responders, like fire, police, or ambulance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When should I not call 911?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the situation is not an emergency, do not dial 911. 911 staff must be ready to answer emergency calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you mistakenly call 911, do not hang up. Simply tell the person who answers that the call was made by mistake. If you hang up, someone will call you back. If you cannot be reached, emergency services may be sent to your location.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important information:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>911 is only for emergencies.
