{"id":133,"date":"2025-03-26T22:55:27","date_gmt":"2025-03-27T01:55:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cfacheticamp.ca\/?page_id=133"},"modified":"2025-05-28T09:27:32","modified_gmt":"2025-05-28T12:27:32","slug":"community-plan","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cfacheticamp.ca\/en\/about\/community-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Community Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Welcoming Francophone Community of the Ch\u00e9ticamp region and its Community Advisory Committee (CAC) have drawn up a Community Plan, and here is an overview of the proposed initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fair Access to Reception and Settlement Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To assist with their successful integration, newcomers have access to services and resources provided in French and connected to the French-speaking community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For The Welcoming Francophone Community of the Ch\u00e9ticamp region, the aim is to <strong>ensure optimal and tailored integration for newcomers seeking to settle in the region and thus ensure their retention.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Targeted Actions:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To receive, inform, guide, and support newcomers who settle in the Ch\u00e9ticamp region<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop, present and regularly update a community calendar listing all activities offered in the region<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To create and run subcommittees of regional experts to fuel discussions and support the reception of newcomers based on targeted sectors or client categories (for example: youth, women, education, economy, and entrepreneurship)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To identify and count the region\u2019s newcomers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To create and publish a reception and integration pathway for the region\u2019s newcomers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop and present a multitude of local activities such as multicultural evenings, intercultural workshops, recreational and\/or sports activities to improve the reception and optimal integration of newcomers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop and implement a twinning program between newcomers and people who are settled in the region<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To raise awareness among newcomers of the importance of French-language education<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To raise awareness among community members and entrepreneurs in the Ch\u00e9ticamp region<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop and run discussion groups in French and English to improve newcomers\u2019 language skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Economic Opportunities, Entrepreneurship, and Employment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The host community and local employers recognize, value and make full use of the expertise brought by French-speaking newcomers to increase the region\u2019s economic vitality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For The Welcoming Francophone Community of the Ch\u00e9ticamp region, the aim is to increase<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the economic value of the community of Ch\u00e9ticamp, including through entrepreneurship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the presence of French in the community of Ch\u00e9ticamp (to reverse the assimilation trend of recent years)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the range of services in French (at all levels)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>employers\u2019 awareness of the need to hire French speakers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Targeted Actions:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To receive, inform, guide, and support newcomers who settle in the Ch\u00e9ticamp region<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To get to know the realities of business leaders to enable the implementation of initiatives that meet their needs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To host awareness-raising meetings with employers from the region<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop, organize and put on a semi-annual job fair<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop a partnership with Nova Scotia Works to provide job search assistance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To develop and run discussion groups in French and English to improve newcomers\u2019 language skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Welcoming Francophone Community of the Ch\u00e9ticamp region and its Community Advisory Committee (CAC) have drawn up a Community Plan, and here is an overview of the proposed initiatives.
